I am a semi-impressionist irish artist, whose work is rooted in an Ulster-Scots rural upbringing near Kellswater, County Antrim. Growing up closely connected to the land shaped my understanding of place, rhythm, and belonging, elements, that continue to inform my approach to contemporary landscape painting. The quiet braes, winding streams, and weathered hedgerows of my early environment remain a constant influence on how I observe and interpret the landscape.
My paintings are inspired by the raw, elemental landscapes of County Antrim and the Glens of Antrim, alongside the wild Atlantic seascapes of County Donegal and the West of Ireland. Working in a semi-impressionist style, I focus on capturing atmosphere, movement, and emotional response rather than literal representation. Themes of memory, energy, and connection to place run throughout my work, reflecting the enduring character and spirit of the Irish landscape.
