I enjoy painting the North Antrim coast, the Glens of Antrim, and the Donegal mountains. The landscape there has always meant a great deal to me. When I paint, I try to create a real sense of atmosphere, paying close attention to my brush strokes, as they are bring each painting to life. Strong composition and perspective, are very important to me, as I believe they keep a painting engaging and help draw the viewer in.

Over the years, my style of painting has developed and continues to evolve. I find myself wanting to move away from strict photo realism, allowing the work to breathe more and to reflect feeling as much as accuracy. Many of my early childhood memories naturally find their way onto the canvas. I’m always observing the light and considering tonal balance, as these elements shape the mood and feeling of my work. I enjoy capturing the Irish landscape as I remember it, preserving something of its character, simplicity, and quiet beauty.
